Kojic acid
Kojic acid is a product extracted from a Japanese mushroom called Koji and, it is currently one of the most effective active ingredients commonly used for evening out skin tone.This substance has two notable benefits: it is not photosensitive, in other words, it does not mark the skin if exposed to sunlight; and it is not toxic for cells, therefore it prevents the appearance of white marks on the skin. It also has antioxidant effects, and makes the skin appear brighter. It is suitable for photoaged skin.
